Fair News

All the latest updates will be posted here and on our Facebook page.

Our Fair Poster Winners have been announced!

Get ready to spot our fabulous Fair posters up around school and town. A huge thank you to the students who entered the Twilight Fair Colouring-In Competition. We had approximately 100 entries across all seven Pods and the standard was very high.

Congratulations to our overall winner: Ruby E. from Pod 7. Well done!

Congratulations to the following students whose designs were selected as the winner of each Pod.

Te Hauora (Pod 1) – Indi Murphy; Kākano (Pod 2) – Indie McPherson; Pihipihi (Pod 3) – Parker Shearer; Tipuranga (Pod 4) – Isla Gould; Puawai (Pod 5) – Macy Whincop; Rapunga (Pod 6) – Chloe Hyndman; Te Whāinga (Pod 7) – Ruby Edgar (overall winner)

Each winner received a $20 book voucher for The Next Chapter bookstore and their design will be published and displayed around their Pod.

The School Book Fair will be joining us again

After successfully being part of the Twilight Fair last year, the WPS Scholastic Book Fair will be back in 2026. The Book Fair will be held in the school library and will have hundreds of new releases, award-winning paperbacks, and fun stationery items available for sale. (Perfect for your Christmas shopping!)

Every book purchased earns rewards for our school, helping us buy brand-new resources for our classrooms and library. Come along, browse the shelves, and help us celebrate the joy of reading! The Book fair will run November 9-14th including during the Twilight Fair.

What to know on the day

This is an event for the whole Wanaka Community. Our Fair Map and Stall Holders will be coming soon.

How to pay

There’s no gate charge but most stalls and activities use Fair Money. Purchase your Fair money at Fair HQ on the day, via Kindo or from the school office in advance (coming soon). Food trucks, Book Fair and community stalls will accept cash and/or Eftpos as well.

Getting here

We encourage you to leave the car at home as parking will be limited. If you do need to drive, please take note of any traffic signs and clearways. Bike parking will be available on the school basket ball courts.

Bring a picnic

Bring your family, friends, a hat and sunscreen plus you’re more than welcome to bring a picnic to setup in front of the stage. However please note this is an alcohol-free event.

Wet weather

In the event of wet weather, the Twilight Fair will still go ahead in a condensed format in the school hall. If this occurs we’ll announce this on our Fair Facebook Page and here on this page also.

Our Fair Committee

Our Fair Committee is made up of parent volunteers from within our school community. It is a great way to get involved and help out in any way you can.

If you’re interested in helping out in any way, please contact pta@wanaka.school.nz, or feel free to shoulder tap a committee member to see how you can get involved.
