2026 Snow Sports Programme

Wānaka Primary School is not taking enrolments, in term 3, for children who intend to engage in the any snowsports programmes during the school week.

Families will need to make their own arrangements for their children’s schooling.  The correspondence school, Te Kura, is able to provide online learning whilst students are residing in Wānaka.  You can also approach your current school and seek online learning from them for Term 3.

Wānaka Primary School is not an option for children who are in snowsports programmes during the school week as this does not constitute regular attendance.

WPS Snow Sports Programme

Children enrolled at Wānaka Primary School have the opportunity to be involved in a winter snowsports programme for 2026.  The programs are managed by the 2 resorts: Cardrona/Treble Cone.

Snowboard lessons are for 7-year-olds or above only.  Skiing for all ages.  We currently have 2 or 3 options for 2026:

  1. 5-day programme at Cardrona, Treble Cone – book online below

  2. 1-day ski experience at Cardrona only – bookings online below

  3. 5-day programme at Snow Farm (please email Jason ASAP). We need 5 children to make this run.

All children enrolled in the 5-day programme MUST be transported by a caregiver up and down the ski field and get them to their lessons on time.  It is also the caregivers responsibility to supervise their children at lunch time.

The 1-day programme will have transport and supervision ORGANISED by the school.

Snow Farm  are keen to get families back on the mountain this year.  They need 5 kids to run their programme. Please email jasonc@wanaka.school.nz to register for this.

Please read all information and regularly check for updates.
